Mediterranean Style Turkey Burgers
As summer approaches and we begin to dust off our grills, many of us start craving the unmistakable aroma of a juicy, sizzling burger. But what if I told you that you could enjoy the same mouth-watering experience while also making a healthier choice? Enter the Mediterranean-flavored turkey burger: a delicious and nutritious option that will have your taste buds dancing.
We all know that turkey is a leaner and healthier protein than beef, making it an excellent choice for those looking to cut back on red meat or watch their calorie intake. However, one of the biggest drawbacks of turkey burgers is their tendency to be dry and lacking in flavor. That’s where my secret ingredient comes in – I take a page from the Italian meatball playbook and incorporate some stale bread that has been soaked into the patty, ensuring that each bite is moist and bursting with flavor.
But enough talking – let’s get down to the details of this recipe. To make these tasty burgers all you will need is ground turkey, chopped fresh rosemary, black olives, sun-dried tomatoes, lemon zest and some crumbled feta cheese. Oh, and of course the secret ingredient to add moistness, a slice of stale bread that has been soaked in warm water. A little salt and pepper and you are good to go!
Serve your Mediterranean-flavored turkey burgers on toasted buns with your favorite toppings. The result is a juicy, flavorful burger that’s bursting with Mediterranean-inspired goodness, all while being leaner and healthier than its beef counterpart.
So the next time you’re craving a burger, give this recipe a try – your taste buds (and your waistline) will thank you!
